Bodies In Motion - Process and exploration

9/1/2025

This series began with overlapping figures, sometimes two, sometimes three, drawn directly on top of each other. I worked without erasing, letting the bodies coexist on the page. Through this process, one figure would usually emerge more strongly, while others remained partially hidden, like traces or echoes.

Working this way became a reflection on identity: how different versions of ourselves overlap through time. Some fade, some remain, and others insist on appearing.

From a technical point of view, I approached each work quickly and intuitively. I combined gesture drawing with layers of color and line, using conte, pastels, and acrylic paint. Some pieces remain almost entirely in line, others expand into areas of color. In certain works, the background is left nearly white to highlight the figures, while in others, soft color fields suggest space and movement.
