Bodies in Motion
2025Conte, pastels, collage & Acrylic on paper
This series explores overlapping figures, drawn and painted as if they coexist in the same space. I begin by tracing one body, then another, then another, until they blur, intersect, or separate. Always, one figure emerges more strongly than the rest. The process became a way of thinking about my own identities: how they overlap, fade, or insist on staying. Some parts of me no longer want to be present, others still linger, and new ones keep appearing. We change through the years, but remain connected to our past selves, carrying different essences. I also think about the shifts that happen when living across countries and languages. Each place, each tongue, brings out a different self, like speaking in multiple voices. Some works remain almost monochrome, with the background left white and only a soft touch of color. In others, the color fuses with the figure itself, blurring the line between body and atmosphere. In this series, I combine drawing and color, working on paper. Line becomes language, and color becomes emotion, creating a dialogue between form and feeling. This work follows the evolution of my previous series.
